The home design and building process is a familiar one to the Darrahs, since Mr. Darrah works as a supplier in the industry and Mrs. Darrah's father is a contractor himself. Needless-to-say, Matt felt especially honored to be chosen for the job. As the Darrah's discussed their priorities for the home with Matt, these considerations quickly came to the fore:

• Using the inspiration of stately Southern style architecture, while keeping the exterior inviting
• Creating spaces for the various activities of each of the four family members (including two teenagers)
• Preserving as many of the existing tress as possible and designing additional landscaping for these avid gardeners
• Siting the house to take advantage of the corner lot, create private outdoor spaces and capture the best light and views
